MRI tech programs offer various educational paths to suit different career goals and experience levels. These programs include associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and post-secondary certificates. How much do online MRI tech training programs cost?
Costs for MRI tech online programs vary widely from program to program. Major factors influencing costs include the type and level of the program (associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or certificate), total program length, and whether the program is offered by a public or private institution. Can I complete my MRI tech training 100% online?
Most online MRI programs, degrees, and certificates feature didactic coursework, accessed and completed either entirely or partially online. However, all MRI programs also include clinical practice components like internships or practicums that provide students with essential hands-on training that must be attended in person.

Employment and Salary Outlook for MRI Techs
With the aging population's need for healthcare and a shortage of healthcare workers, graduates from MRI tech programs are well-positioned in terms of salary and job security. On average, they earn between $50,020 and $102,380 annually. In some states, the earning potential is even higher. In California, for example, some MRI techs earn over $153,390 a year. These salaries are especially significant when you consider that you only need an associate's or bachelor's degree to work as an MRI tech. The job growth rate is also strong (5.5%), though less impressive than the average salary range. This growth rate indicates MRI techs should not have difficulty finding work, though the application process may take longer than in professions with higher growth rates. Additionally, there should be ample opportunities for advancement and promotion, and many employers will continue to invest in MRI tech education and professional development.
