The Keys to Succeed on Pharmacy Tech Scholarship Applications
Most pharmacy technician scholarships follow a similar application process, but each award will likely have different requirements. Read the application instructions carefully and fulfill each requirement with as much detail as possible. Follow our keys for success below to increase your chances of submitting an award-winning application.
Key #1: Tailor Your Materials
Application processes vary and individual scholarships will ask different essay questions. Take the time to adapt your materials for each award. This not only shows initiative, but it also demonstrates your potential job versatility. Jot down specific values or traits a scholarship requires and brainstorm ways to showcase those traits through your application.
Key #2: Submit Early When Possible
Most scholarships will post a clear deadline. If you apply online, get to know the portal in advance so you don’t encounter issues at the last minute. Submit before the deadline if you can to signal promptness and professionalism.
Key #3: Apply Far and Wide
Most awards are competitive, so you probably won’t land every scholarship. This is a normal part of the process. Focus on awards that play to your strengths and specific qualifications, but strive to submit more applications than you think you will need to increase your chances.
Key #4: Contact Your References in Advance
It is always a good idea to reach out to your references as a professional courtesy. If your scholarship asks for recommendation letters, be sure to contact your references well in advance of the deadline.
Key #5: Proofread Applications
Be sure to proofread your application materials. Your application reflects you and your standards and even the smallest typos or grammatical errors can make a difference. This is especially important since working in a pharmacy requires close attention to detail.
